The nominations for the Golden Globe Awards, which will be presented on January 6 2019, include several nominations for DCM films, directors and actors.
The MOONLIGHT successor IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK is nominated for “Best Feature Film”. The film by Oscar-winner Barry Jenkins, who is also nominated in the Best Screenplay category, is expected to hit theaters on February 14, 2019. In addition, Regina King was nominated in the film for her role as “Best Supporting Actress”.
Robert Redford is nominated for “Best Actor” in what will most likely be his final acting role in THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN, which will be released on 28 March under the title EIN GAUNER & GENTLEMAN. Willem Dafoe was also nominated for “Best Actor – Drama” for his role as Vincent van Gogh in Julian Schnabel’s AT ETERNITYS GATE, which will be released on April 18 with the title AN DER SCHWELLE ZUR EWIGKEIT.
Likewise, Charlize Theron is among the favorites in the category “Best Actress” for her role in the drama TULLY, released by DCM in summer 2018.
DCM is also excited about the nomination for GIRL as “Best Foreign Language Film”, which has already successfully screened in Germany and Switzerland.
Last but not least: In the category “Best Musical or Comedy” as well as “Best Screenplay” the political satire VICE – THE SECOND MAN was nominated several times. Christian Bale, who plays Dick Cheney, received a nomination for “Best Actor – Mucial or Comedy”. Sam Rockwell is one of the “Best Supporting Actor” favorites, with Amy Adams also nominated as “Best Supporting Actress” and Adam McKay in the Best Director category. The film will be released in German cinemas on February 28, 2019, with DCM being booking & billing partner for Universum Film.
